Emergency personnel from Kneeland Volunteer Fire, Eureka Fire Department, Cal Fire and Humboldt Fire District responded to the scene of
a logging truck accident on Kneeland Rd. It took crews an hour and a half to extricate the victim from the wreckage which ended up about 100'
over the embankment on its side. The victim was trapped half in and half out of the truck with his legs pinned inside the wreckage. The patient
was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Fortunately, no other vehicles or victims were involved.

The Kneeland Firefighters, Board of Directors and
volunteers wish everyone a SAFE winter season.
It is the time of year when we use wood stoves and space
heaters more often. Have your chimney cleaned and
inspected regularly. Don't overload electrical plugs and
make sure any space heater is safe to use. If the power
goes out use generators safely do not "back feed ". Follow
manufacturers instructions for "safe use."
